Karnataka is hailed as the leader in private-public participation model and has reaped huge benefits allowing it to cope up with exponential growth of Bangalore. It is very sad to note (TOI page 1 dt 23 Dec 09) that the powers that be are trying to derail this model by blaming publicly past and present BIA directors. We need to see how much the successive goverments interfered with various activities related to BIA. Bangaloreans will recall the alacrity with which the HAL airport was closed last year which was not just due to the contract signed with BIA. Can we recall any big infra project that has been completed by government agencies in time with agreed quality. Were the powers that be penalised for such shortcomings so far in the context of huge cost / time overruns that is the order of the day. We cannot have different rules for different people.
