Vibhutipura Lake in Bangalore is an example of how an organized encroachment activity can kill the naturally breathing lake. This used to be a living waterbody just 3-4 years ago and is dying rapidly due to general apathy and negligence. This lake also has many migratory birds coming from as far as south africa. Some of the rare birds spotted here include : "brahmanical eagle", "chineese hen","kingfishers" etc. We from Utkarsh have cleared up a two acre land belonging to forest department and are developing it into a park so at least everyone in the area can see the lake. "Uthkarsh" is an combined initiative from Residents of LBS Nagar.LBS Nagar has 14 apartment complexes comprising of 800 flats overall besides several independent houses. The park work have been funded by all apartments only with good co-ordination and supervision of the work by taking turns. please find a video on encroachment: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2wfcZp84J9w
